The Republika Beach Bar is a laid back, mellow, native style cocktail bar nestled among mature trees and next to the beach close to San Juan town. It is an oasis of tranquility and includes cool accommodation (new) and a well-equipped dive centre (Siquijor Divers, www.siquijordivers.com).

The location is secluded and child friendly (away from the road) with comfortable seating, hammocks, a grassy area and small sandy beach (rocky at low tide). The bar has a kitchen that offers a limited menu but is varied enough with food choices that should appeal to both meat and vegetarian diners (kitchen open 7.30AM to about 9PM….opening hours vary seasonably).  In addition to cocktails and the familiar range of domestic beers Republika also serves our in-house ABC craft ales on draught, which are brewed locally in Maite village 250 metres away. The bar closes each night around 9-10pm.

Republika has four brand new and highly appointed units with air-conditioning and balconies and one further unit which is a rustic/native style cabin constructed of amakan and bamboo (with fan only).  All of the units have hot water. Each accommodation unit has a partial sea view (view is partially blocked by trees) and the ocean-beach is 10-20 metres in front of the units. The units are designed with couples or families in mind.

Siquijor Divers (www.siquijordivers.com) is a full service dive centre located within the grounds catering to novices and experts alike. The knowledgeable instructors are the most qualified on the island and the equipment is either new or less than 2 years old. In addition to diving, Siquijor Divers offers a ‘sub-wing’ experience and has snorkeling gear for hire.

The corals located approximately 100m offshore are some of the best on the island and ideal for snorkeling. In addition to snorkeling close to Republika other nearby reefs also offer great muck diving opportunities and can be visited within minutes by dive centre boats.
